So he's dead. I have no sympathy for Saddam, and the pussies complaining about his sham trial can suck it - exactly what sort of trials do you think they have in Iraq, whether we're there or not? Sham or no, they reached the correct conclusion - Saddam was a murderous bastard who whacked a lot more than the 146 he was convicted of, and execution is the appropriate punishment in the Iraqi legal system (such as it is). Sending him to the Hague for a non-sham trial would have resulted in the same outcome, it just would have taken about three years longer and cost a shit-pot more money, so whatever. I'm just looking forward to the execution itself reaching youtube (I'm a sick lil' monkey).

But the wingnuts among us also need a dose of reality. Hanging Saddam didn't do away with the "mastermind of 9/11" - Saddam, as even your beloved Prez and Veep have admitted, had nothing to do with 9/11, or even with terrorism. It won't cause so much as a temporary blip in the violence of the "War on Terror". It isn't a triumph of "justice". All that we've seen here is the inevitable end product of any dictatorship - they all end on the gallows.

Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden - you know, the guy who did and still does plan nearly all of the terror attacks we've actually suffered - is free to move about the Middle East, because we stopped looking for him. Meanwhile, we kill Al Qaeda's "second-in-command" every couple months, while Al Qaeda just keeps expanding it's influence. Meanwhile, focus on America's perceived imperialism just continues to expand, turning all possible allies away from us.

You know how conservatives like the retard in the White House rail against isolationism? Well, the resulting product of their hunger for military domination is an involuntarily imposed isolationism. So, you know...thanks for that.
